Petunia ‘Alenka’ F1
Easy to grow classic with lovely vintage colouring
Baby pink blooms with a sunshine yellow centre
Perfect for baskets and containers
Petunia ‘Alenka’ F1 is a true classic with lovely vintage colouring. Masses of baby pink blooms, 5-6cm across, with sunshine yellow centres create a beautiful display. The plants are well-branched and compact, making them perfect for baskets and containers. Height and spread: 35cm (14in).
Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Lightly cover the seed with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of between 21-25C (70-75F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 10-21 days.
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, 30cm (12in) apart, or plant into containers. For best results, provide a light, well-drained soil in full sun.
