Detailed Growing Instructions for Success:

Days to Germination:

3-5 days at 80-85°F (27-29°C), or 5-7 days at 70-75°F (21-24°C) at lower temperatures.

Sowing:

Transplant (recommended): Sow into 72-cell flats or preferred seedling containers 4 weeks before the last expected frost. Cover seeds. Use a heat mat for optimal and consistent germination. Harden off seedlings after the danger of frost has passed before transplanting outdoors. Handle seedlings carefully to avoid disturbing roots, as transplant shock can temporarily affect double flowering. Space plants 9-12 inches apart.

Direct Seed: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep directly into the garden after the last frost, once the soil has warmed.

For prolonged yields of high-quality stems, succession sow or plant every 2 weeks for several weeks.

Pinching the initial bud or bloom and subsequent deadheading of spent flowers is recommended to encourage strong branching and increased bloom production.

Growing Conditions:

Light Preference: Sun.

Plant Height: Varies.

Plant Spacing: 9-12 inches.

Hardiness Zones: Annual.

Soil Requirements: Fertile soil rich in organic matter. Preferred pH: 6.3-6.8.

Harvesting:

Harvest blooms before they are completely open, when the stem is firm from the point of cut to just below the bloom.

Uses:

Excellent as cut flowers, ideal for beds, borders, and mass plantings.
