Cultivation

Plant in permeable soil in a sunny location to achieve richer flowering, though it can tolerate partial shade. Verbena is very resistant to weather fluctuations but thrives with consistent moisture and plenty of nutrients, so fertilize weekly. Remove faded flowers to encourage better branching and continuous blooming throughout the season. This mix requires seed stratification for successful germination.

Planting Tip (Stratification Required)

Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before the last expected frost. Vernalize seeds by sowing them in pre-moistened sterilized seed starting mix in trays. Place trays in plastic bags inside the refrigerator for 2 weeks before bringing them to warmer temperatures for germination.
