Grow Classic Beauty with Perennial Shasta Daisy
Add a touch of timeless elegance to your garden with our open-pollinated Shasta Daisy (*Leucanthemum* spp., formerly *Chrysanthemum X superbum* and *C. maxima*). These perennial seeds produce free-flowering plants that boast large, snow-white, single flowers with bright yellow centers, creating a cheerful and classic daisy look.
Growing to a height of 50-70 cm, this outstanding plant is considered a staple for any perennial garden, providing reliable beauty year after year. Shasta Daisies are known for being easy to grow and adaptable to most soil types.
They are also remarkably trouble-free and exhibit good tolerance to both heat and drought, making them a resilient choice for a variety of climates.
For best results, start Shasta Daisy seeds indoors about 8 to 10 weeks before your anticipated outdoor planting time. Maintain a germination temperature of around 20°C (68°F), and you can expect seedlings to emerge within 14 to 21 days.
Once germinated, grow the seedlings under lights at a slightly cooler temperature of 15°C (59°F) before gradually hardening them off to outdoor conditions. Transplant them to a sunny spot in your garden, although they will also bloom well in light shade, offering flexibility in garden placement.
Ensure the soil is well-drained for optimal growth. With their beautiful blooms and easy-care nature, Shasta Daisies are a rewarding addition to any landscape, providing lovely cut flowers and attracting beneficial pollinators to your garden.
