Also known as Brown-Eyed Susan, Gloriosa Daisy, and Yellow Daisy, these heirloom, open-pollinated seeds yield plants with vibrant blooms reaching an impressive 3.5″ across. The sturdy plants produce an abundance of these petal-packed flowers, ensuring a spectacular display in your garden or wildflower meadow. Sow early for potential first-season blooms and enjoy a reliable perennial show for many seasons to come.

Easy to Grow, Attracts Pollinators, and Versatile

Rudbeckia Hirta Gloriosa Double is known for being easy to grow and maintain. Its branching growth habit results in a profusion of cheerful yellow flowers on plants reaching 12 to 27 inches in height. These blooms are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators, making them a valuable addition to any wildlife-friendly garden. Adaptable for container gardens and excellent as cut flowers, Gloriosa Double is also cold and drought-tolerant once established and can even thrive in poor soil conditions. For optimal germination, sow indoors into plug flats 5-7 weeks before the growing season, covering the seed very lightly as light is required. Harden off seedlings before transplanting. Direct surface sowing is also possible in the growing season. These plants are fast-growing, offer an extended bloom time, and will reseed. Harvest fresh blooms before they are fully open and dried blooms when fully open. Plant in average, well-drained soil in a sunny location, spacing plants 12-18 inches apart.
