Introducing Helianthus ProCut Gold Lite DMR F1 sunflower seeds, an improved selection offering downy mildew resistance and a more elegant appearance. Compared to the standard ProCut® Gold, this variety grows taller, blooms slightly later in the season, and features wider, more rounded petals, giving the 4–6″ blooms a distinctly refined look.
Enhanced Appearance and Disease Resistance
The key advantage of ProCut® Gold Lite DMR is its resistance to downy mildew, a persistent issue in soils, particularly cool and wet ones. Symptoms of downy mildew in sunflowers include damping-off, stunted growth, yellowing leaves, and a characteristic downy, white mildew on the undersides of the leaves.
Optimal Growth for Premium Cut Flowers
For best results with Helianthus ProCut Gold Lite DMR F1 sunflowers, direct seeding is recommended. Sow the seeds ½ inch deep. If starting indoors for an earlier bloom, sow 2-3 weeks before your intended outdoor planting time. Be gentle during transplanting as sunflowers dislike root disturbance. Do not pinch these single-stem sunflowers. For a continuous supply of blooms, succession-sow every 1-2 weeks and/or plant alongside other sunflower varieties with varied days to maturity. Ensure your planting location receives full sun.
