Optimal Growing Conditions & Planting Tips:
- Light Preference: Thrives in Full Sun, ensuring the most vibrant colors and abundant blooms.
- Soil Requirements: Prefers rich, moist, and well-drained sandy soil for best performance.
- Plant Spacing: Space plants 8-12 inches apart to allow for proper air circulation and growth.
Sowing Instructions for Phlox Cherry Caramel Seeds:
- Days to Germination: Expect germination within 5-10 days at an ideal temperature of 16-18°C.
- Direct Seeding (Recommended): Sow seeds directly outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Cover seeds with 1/8″ of fine soil. Darkness is required for germination, so ensure proper coverage. Thin seedlings when the first true leaves appear to achieve the desired spacing.
- Transplanting: For an earlier start, sow seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting outside. Sow directly into final containers or jumbo plug trays, as Phlox dislikes root disturbance. Cover the seed lightly, ensuring darkness is provided for germination. Carefully transplant outdoors when the first true leaves appear and the danger of frost has passed.
