Discover the delightful flavour of Pepper Pepperoncini (*Capsicum annuum*), an Italian heirloom variety known for its bushy and vigorous growth, producing abundant yields of slender, 12cm (5″) long peppers. These versatile peppers transition from green to red as they ripen, developing an even sweeter taste.
Their rich flavour is often likened to sun-dried tomatoes, accompanied by just a subtle hint of warmth, making them a mild and enjoyable pepper. Pepperoncini peppers are a wonderful addition to fresh salads, a tasty accompaniment to dips and breads, and are particularly popular for pickling. Importantly, these are not chile peppers and offer only a very gentle warmth. This heirloom variety also thrives in containers, with a recommendation of one plant per five-gallon pot.
For best results, plant in rich, fertile soil with good drainage. You can expect a mature harvest in approximately 70 days from planting. These are open-pollinated seeds, and each packet contains about 70 seeds (0.5g).
