Oregano Dost Seeds – Hot & Spicy Pizza Spice

Grow your own aromatic and spicy Oregano Dost, the popular pizza spice!

This variety adds a hot and zesty flavor to your culinary creations. Beyond its use in pizza dishes, it’s also fantastic with fish, mussels, lamb, and tomato salad. Traditionally, oregano is believed to make fatty foods more digestible and can even be enjoyed as a flavorful tea.

This light-germinating seed should be sown in pots or trays, pressed lightly onto the soil (do not cover), and kept moist. Once seedlings are strong enough, prick them out and then plant them in a sunny location with well-drained, nutrient-rich garden soil.

Harvest the flavorful shoot tips frequently and the leaves continuously throughout the growing season. To encourage further growth, cut back flowering herbs to about 5cm above the ground. In regions with severe frost, light winter protection is recommended.

Notably, oregano flowers are highly attractive to beneficial insects like bees, bumblebees, and butterflies.
