For an earlier harvest, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost. Sow seeds ½ inch (1.3 cm) deep with ½ inch (1.3 cm) spacing in seed trays. Transplant seedlings outdoors with a spacing of 24 inches (60 cm) between plants and 24 inches (60 cm) between rows.
Lacinato kale thrives in cool weather and prefers full sun to partial shade.
