Growing Your Jacaranda Mimosifolia from Seed
To speed up germination, soak the dry Jacaranda Mimosifolia seeds in water for 24 hours. Place the soaked seed on a bed of well-draining potting soil in a container and cover it with a thin layer of soil, keeping it consistently moist.
Germination may take anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks, so be patient. After approximately 8 months, once the seedlings are well-established, you can transplant them outdoors or into a larger container. Choose a spacious outdoor area that receives at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight daily.
Opt for rich, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH (6-7.5) to prevent root rot. Water the tree weekly during the summer months and reduce watering to monthly during the winter.
Consistent sunlight and proper watering are key to healthy growth and abundant blooming.
