Green manure mustard

The mustard is a green manure crop. It is ideally suited as a soil improver. It revitalizes the soil and promotes the formation of humus. The mustard is also an ideal source of nectar for insects.

As a biological catch plant, yellow mustard effectively combats plant-damaging nematodes, also known as nematodes, and thus makes a significant contribution to soil health. The fast-growing plants quickly form a dense, ground-covering leaf mass and loosen the soil with their deep-reaching root system. Yellow mustard should not be grown before or after cabbage species in the crop rotation, since as a close relative it can transmit diseases such as clubroot.
