Gladiolus Maggie

POSITION
Gladioli require position of sun and sheltered from the wind.
SOIL
prefer fertile soil, humus, rich in nutrients (compost, manure, mineral fertilizers), neutral or slightly acidic.
PLANTING
Gladioli planted in late April and May in the spacing about 8-10 cm to a depth of 8-10 cm on heavy soils should be planted slightly deeper. Gladioli planted too shallowly may be exposed to water scarcity as well as easier to get broken during windy weather.
CARE
In times of drunk gladioli require watering. On poorer soils every 2-3 weeks we fuel them compounds fertilizers: the last time at the start of flowering. Vigorous growing inflorescences require support. SOIL – prefer fertile soil, humus, rich in nutrients (compost, manure, mineral fertilizers), neutral or slightly acidic.
STORAGE
Tubers dug in. After digging we cut stems and we dry them for several days in a ventilated room or in the sun. After drying tubes should be cleaned. Over the winter we store in a cool, well-ventilated place at a temperature about 5°C. Gladioli aren’t frost resistant.
