Ammi Black Knight, also known as False Queen Anne’s Lace is prized for its smokey mauve lacy umbel flowers by floral artists and cottage gardeners alike. 48″ inch plants produce sturdy stems with fine, feathery, fern-like foliage topped with 2″ to 3″ inch blooms that are a concentrated collection of thousands of micro flowers in the shape of an umbrella. The individual flower stems have fine leaf bracts that create a delicate frilly appearance unique to this variety. A typical addition to a country or cottage garden, Black Knight is also well at home providing textural interest in border plantings, hugging a fence line or between block plantings as a neutral palette to frame bolder or brighter color varieties.
