It can also be grown as a natural plant fertilizer.
Key Features of Comfrey:

- Attractive Foliage & Flowers: Features large, hairy leaves and clusters of purple, pink, or creamy-yellow tubular flowers.
- Beneficial for Wildlife: Attracts pollinators and provides habitat.
- Natural Plant Fertilizer: Leaves are rich in nutrients and can be used for compost or liquid feed.
- Versatile Garden Use: Suitable for wildlife gardens, wildflower meadows, and informal cottage gardens.
- Relatively Pest & Disease Free: Generally easy to maintain.
Growing Tips for Your Comfrey Seeds:
Sow seeds in pots in a cold frame in autumn or spring. Choose a location with moderately fertile, moist soil in sun or partial shade. Be mindful of its potential for vigorous growth and plan accordingly.
Comfrey can also be propagated by division of fleshy roots in spring or by root cuttings in early winter.
To encourage neat, young foliage, plants can be cut back after flowering. Once established, comfrey is generally pest and disease-free.
