Grow Lacy Sky-Blue Blooms with Cliveden Beauty Delphinium Seeds
Cliveden Beauty Delphinium is a first-year flowering perennial that produces well-branched plants with long, slender stems adorned with lacy, sky-blue blooms. This popular color and the airy, delicate appearance of the flowers make it a favorite for bouquets and design work. Reaching a height of 40–60 inches, these tall plants may require strong support to prevent stems from lodging or toppling in heavy rain or wind.
Elegant Sky-Blue Spikes for Bouquets and Borders
The slender stems of Cliveden Beauty Delphinium are covered in delicate, sky-blue flowers, creating an elegant and airy display. The well-branched nature of the plants ensures a good supply of these beautiful blooms, perfect for cutting and adding a touch of classic charm to bouquets.
Specific Sowing and Growing Recommendations
Sowing Instructions: Transplanting is highly recommended. Sow your Cliveden Beauty Delphinium seeds 10-16 weeks before your intended planting-out date, covering the seeds lightly as they need darkness to germinate. Transplant seedlings into larger cell packs or 3-4″ containers 6-8 weeks after germination. Grow seedlings at a cool temperature of 50-55°F (10-13°C) in a greenhouse or cold frames. Harden off the seedlings before transplanting them outside after the last frost.
Growing Instructions: Choose a location that receives sun to part shade with well-drained, fertile, slightly alkaline soil rich in organic matter. Provide strong support, especially in exposed locations.
