Growing Information:

Transplant Recommended: Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last expected frost into 72-cell flats or preferred seedling containers. Light is required for germination, so cover very lightly. Maintain a temperature of 70-80°F (21-27°C) and bottom water or mist lightly. Grow seedlings at 63-68°F (17-20°C). Harden off and transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.

Direct Sow: In regions with long growing seasons, you can direct sow seeds outdoors 1/8 inch deep after the last frost.

Pinching: Pinching young plants (when 6-12 inches tall) is recommended to encourage branching and potentially increase the number of stems and flowers.

Growing Conditions: Plant in full sun in well-drained, moist, fertile soil high in organic matter, with a preferred pH of 6.0-7.0. Consistent moisture is important. Low temperatures and less than 12 hours of light can cause premature flowering.

Harvesting: For fresh cut flowers, harvest when the flower plumes are fully developed and the stems are firm at the base. For dried flowers, harvest at the same stage and hang upside down in a dark, well-ventilated location to dry.
