Unique Triple White Broad Beans
Discover the distinctive Bean Triple White Broad, a very early and productive variety that lives up to its name by blooming white, germinating white, and producing beautiful white grains. Reaching a half-high to high stature, these robust plants offer good yields of medium-sized beans with a strong, characteristic broad bean flavor. What sets ‘Triple White’ apart is that its grains remain white and tender even after cooking.
For the best taste and texture, harvest when the beans are fully ripe but still slightly soft and milky. Broad beans are a hearty and nutritious vegetable, and while best enjoyed fresh, ‘Triple White’ can also be successfully dried or frozen for later use.
This cold-tolerant variety is also known for its resilience, and early sowing helps to minimize the risk of black bean louse infestation. Plant in a sunny location with loose, well-worked soil for optimal growth.
For successful cultivation, direct sow seeds outdoors from the end of February to the beginning of May. Sow 3-5 seeds every 20 cm within rows that are spaced 50 cm apart, at a depth of 4-5 cm.
Expect germination within 8-14 days, provided the soil temperature is at least 5°C. Harvest your ‘Triple White’ broad beans from June to August, enjoying their unique color and delicious flavor.
One packet of seeds is sufficient for approximately 40 plants.
