Growing Your Basil Emily

Sow your Basil Emily seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last expected frost or directly outdoors once the soil has warmed and all danger of frost has passed.

Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Sow seeds shallowly, about 1/4 inch deep, and gently cover. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination occurs, typically within 7-14 days. When transplanting seedlings or thinning direct-sown plants, space them about 8-10 inches apart to accommodate their compact growth.

For pot culture, use a good quality potting mix and ensure adequate drainage. Water regularly, especially during warm weather, and harvest by pinching off the top sets of leaves to encourage bushier growth and maximize your flavorful harvest.
