Ageratum, ‘Red Flint’

Red-flowered, tall Ageratum variety ideal both as a bedding plant and as a provider of some rather fine and lovely cut flowers. With usefully strong stems, the flowers are dark red when in bud before expanding to give, when in full bloom, beautiful, almost spherical heads of fluffy, striking purple-red blossom. 2ft (60cm)
Germination Instructions
Sow indoors. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost which has been firmed. Ideal temp. 15-18°C. Do not exclude light as this aids germination. Germination takes 10-15 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle transplant to 8cm pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed with 50cm spacing.

Growing Instructions

Prefers full sun on moist, fertile well-drained soil. Water regularly until established. Requires little attention.

Cultivation Instructions

Deadhead regularly to extend flowering and encourage further blooms.
