A versatile, round zucchini that can be harvested in all three phases of growth: golf ball size for raw consumption, slightly larger for sliced slices and in pan dishes (stir and fry) or tennis ball size for filling.

SEEDING INFORMATION

If there is no risk of frost, the seed is sown in nutritious, well-drained soil. Sow 2 seeds each, 20mm deep at a distance of 70cm. After germination, thin down to the thickest seedlings. The seeds can also be sown in pots in the greenhouse from April to May and, if there is no risk of frost, be planted outdoors at a distance of 70cm. Planting in cold frames or in the foil tunnel results in stronger plants and earlier flowers. Water the plants well. As soon as the first fruit is visible, fertilize regularly. Golfball-sized, raw fruits can be harvested for salads 40 days after sowing. Harvest tennis ball sized fruits as they are soft.

If you let the fruits grow completely, they are best treated like gourds. Ideal sliced, for cooking or stuffed with minced meat and herbs. Regular picking prolongs the harvest time.

COOKING TIPS

Marinated zucchini salad. Cut the zucchinis into thin slices, marinate with fresh lemon juice, garlic and olive oil in a bowl and place in the refrigerator. Add chopped parsley, basil and coriander and serve.
