Transplant in Autumn to early Winter for flowering in mid-Winter to early Spring.

Trachelium Lake Michigan Violet, commonly known as Throatwort is a specialty variety bred to produce early flowering blooms. Well formed 30″ to 40″ inch plants produce an abundance of 3” to 6” bright violet umbel shaped disk blooms that are comprised of hundreds of micro blossoms on multi-bract stems. An excellent filler flower with a long vase life. Although a perennial, this variety is often grown by cut flower production growers as an annual. An excellent choice for home cutting gardens and container plantings where early season blooms are desired. Seeds can be sown in autumn and left to overwinter or planted in the spring.
